How to Connect Multiple Bluetooth Speakers (Easy Guide)

How to Connect Multiple Bluetooth Speakers

A long time ago, this wouldn’t have been remotely possible. Today, however, this is possible in multiple ways. We’re going to go through the various methods of connecting numerous Bluetooth speakers to a device. This is something either built-in or might require a third-party app, but it is more possible now than it ever was before.

Here are some of the ways you can connect multiple Bluetooth speakers:

AmpMe is an application that allows you to synchronize smartphones and Bluetooth devices to broadcast the same audio file. As a result, music or audio from any platform and your own device will be able to be played through multiple devices or speakers.

It is almost unlimited in its ability to connect devices and will still broadcast flawlessly across the countless devices connected. All you need is permission from the device carriers, and then you become the DJ.

Download, connect to Google or Facebook, turn on locations, connect, and finally play.

Bose Connect

Bose Connect is limited to its devices. The Bose Connect app allows you to stream audio to multiple Bose devices. The Bose app helps you find and connect to available devices around you. They also have two modes of operation; stereo mode and party mode.

Stereo Mode = Left and right speaker separated.

With both speakers on, make sure a device is connected via Bluetooth. Then, press and hold both the Bluetooth and volume + key simultaneously. Once you hear the Stereo Mode sound, you will hear the left and right speakers identify themselves.

Party Mode = Left and right speaker together.

With both speakers on, make sure a device is connected via Bluetooth. Once connected, hold the Bluetooth and Volume + key simultaneously on the speaker connected to the device. You will release this as soon as you see the following message; ‘Press the Bluetooth and volume down buttons simultaneously on a second Bose device.’

For the second speaker, you will hold the Bluetooth and Volume – button simultaneously, wait for a beep. Then you will be told ‘Party Mode, ’ meaning it’s ready to go.

Samsungs Dual Audio

Samsungs Dual Audio

Samsung has a built-in capability for connecting two Bluetooth devices at the same time. The Dual Audio function isn’t as flexible as others on this list in terms of the number of devices connected, but it’s still worth noting. Another thing to note is that this is only available in Samsung devices beyond the S8 or S+.

In order to utilize this feature, you will need to go to your settings, find the connections tab and go to the Bluetooth section. In the upper right corner, you will find the Advanced Setting option. Next, select Dual Audio and flip the toggle switch to on.

With all that out the way, you’re now able to connect your phone with two speakers or two headphones. If you attempt to add a third device, the first paired device will be disconnected. Likewise, if you connect two headphones, the first pair of headphones will have the media controls.

Apples HomePod Stereo Pair

No surprise here, but Apple also has some options for connecting multiple Bluetooth devices. The HomePod Stereo Pair means you connect any of your Apple devices to HomePod Speakers. If you attempt to a HomePod in the same room with another person, you’ll have an option to use the speakers as stereo pair. Through the StereoPair function, you can stream music to more than one speaker.

With the home app, verify that both HomePods are in the same room. Then, go to the Home app, double-click HomePod and go to its settings. Then, click on ‘create stereo pair’ before selecting the second HomePod you want to add. Press return, and then you’re done.

Amazon Echo & Google Home

Two very different companies, but two very similar devices that use the same technology. Both the Amazon Echo and Google Home are capable of connecting multiple devices.

Amazon Echo

With your Amazon Echo, provide the voice command ‘go to settings’ or, alternatively, swipe down from the top of the Echo screen. Go to the settings, and then Bluetooth. It should provide a list of available devices. Next, you need to select the speaker you want to connect to by following the on-screen instructions. Alexa will tell you if the connection was successful.

Google Home

Like Amazon’s Echo, Google Home can connect to other home speakers, as well as third-party Bluetooth speakers. One Google Home device is able to connect to one speaker at a time, meaning the more Google Home devices you have, the more you can connect.

Go to the Google Home app, and tap the Devices icon located in the upper right corner. Select the home speaker you want to connect to and then go to settings, default music speaker, and select Bluetooth speaker. Done.

Bluetooth 5.0

Speakers utilizing Bluetooth 5.0 technology are now equipped with an improved range, and speed which is twice as fast as Bluetooth 4.2.

For now, Apple is leading the way in having devices utilize Bluetooth 5.0. Still, other companies are catching up as they race to produce products with this new version.

Final thoughts

These are not the only methods of connecting multiple Bluetooth speakers, but they are most widely used. Using methods like AmpMe is something easily accessible to countless people regardless of device. In contrast, things such as Echo, Google Home, or Apple’s HomePods are not things everyone has. Find what works best for you and enjoy the increasingly louder sounds with your multiple speaker’s setups.
