The DCX Expo returns to the Fairplex in Pomona, California this year on March 20th & 21st. Along with its return comes an opportunity for collectors to pick up some limited edition custom pieces being made specifically for the event.

This first piece announced is this custom 1:24 scale Divco that has been designed to match the style of the DCX Dairy Delivery offered at the 2007 expo. The run is being limited to just 50 pieces, and they are available for $55 each. Collectors who are interested in this piece should note that the 2007 Dairy Delivery shown in the picture does not come with the Divco, and is only shown for design reference.

M2 Machines will be in attendance at this year’s event and has produced a limited run of the 1970 Ford Gran Torino GT casting. The standard edition run is limited to 492 pieces and ships in the standard M2 packaging for $17.00. They have also produced a chase version for the show that is limited to just 108 pieces. Chase pieces will be randomly inserted into orders that are placed through Diehard-Diecast.com. No information is currently available on how they will be distributed during the event itself. Both versions also have an official DCX show sticker that indicates the run quantity.

Pieces purchased through Diehard-Diecast will ship on March 22, 2010 or you can request to pick up your order at the show.

GreenLight Toys has been a great supporter of all the DiecastSpace.com convention right from the get-go and 2010 is certainly no different. This week collectors are treated to a first look at the flat artwork of GreenLight’s 2010 Super Convention car.

This 2010 Ford Shelby GT500 is a brand new casting, and its making its debut in a promo run for the Super Convention. The final piece will come dressed in Kona Blue Metallic with White Stripes and will sport the convention logo on the roof.

A total of 1008 pieces are being produced for the convention. 912 of those will be Regular Version cars and the remaining 96 will be Green Machines. As an added bonus, GreenLight Toys will be offering a special deal for convention goers. Collectors who buy 5 regular version cars will receive a Green Machine for FREE!

With just a few weeks to go, the Wild Weekend of Hot Wheels 6 convention car line-up continues to grow! The staff has recently secured a limited run of 750 Custom Convoys from the Hot Wheels Classics line.

The name “Custom Convoy” might not ring a bell because its a brand new casting in the 2009 Classics line-up. This version appearing at the Wild Weekend will be painted in Spectraflane pink – a color that is exclusive to the Wild Weekend of Hot Wheels 6!

This premium car will be given to the first 100 ticket purchasers and first 100 H.O.T Package purchasers as part of their ticket purchase. The remainder will be available for purchase throughout the weekend.

This past weekend the two main Wild Weekend of Hot Wheels 6 convention cars were finally paired up when this incredibly good looking Bone Shaker arrived in Connecticut. With only 2000 being made, this piece is surely going to be sought after by collectors far and wide.

Tired of seeing e-sheets yet..? Thats what I though…me neither!! So here’s another to feast your eyes on. You would think that a casting like the Bone Shaker would look a bit odd in a color like pink, but I think it suits it just fine. Seeing both the pink color and the skull on the front view almost gives it that “naughty or nice” kind of vibe.

Bryan Pope of Pope Designs continues to knock’em out of the park with this new bus design that will come to life as the “Paradise Road” event car at the Wild Weekend of Hot Wheels 6. Each convention attendee who submits a VW Drag Bus or Beach Bomb into the Paradise Road display will receive this Pope Designs creation. Each piece submitted can be loose or carded. Slots are limited and are filling up fast, so be sure to register on the Paradise Road VW Drag Bus and Beach Bomb Reunion page before its too late.

A short while ago I posted the e-sheet of the upcoming Wild Weekend of Hot Wheels 6 Street Rodder convention car. Just this past week these photos popped up on the official WWHW6 site and truly prove that is piece is just as awesome looking as the e-sheet hinted!

This this Larry Wood designed “new-for-2009″ casting will be available for the first time as a premium vehicle at the Wild Weekend. The more I look at these pictures, the hungrier I get. Maybe that has something to do with the license plate its sporting!

If you had any reservations about attending this August’s 2nd Annual Hot Wheels Summer Smash in Warwick, Rhode Island, then this e-sheet of the Mattel-produced Deco Delivery will definitely tip you in the right direction! The Deco Delivery casting was designed by Larry Wood and will soon be released as a part of Classics Series 5. The Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club will be the first in the country to see it as a premium limited to 1000 pieces. The graphics for this Summer Smash piece were done by Wayne Scott.

The e-sheet for the upcoming Wild Weekend Street Rodder has just been released, and its certainly looking hot! The car is done up in Spectraflame light green with traditional flame tampos on both sides. It also features deep-dish chrome wheels and Redline Real Rider tires. There are only 2000 of these cars available, and it comes with your Wild Weekend of Hot Wheels 6 ticket purchase.

Speaking of tickets, I’ve been told that ticket packages are selling fast. As of the date of this post there are less than 25 H.O.T. Packages left! Purchasing the H.O.T. Package will guarantee you get a special Code 3 car designed by Chris “Nightstalker” Walker. Also don’t forget that you must book your hotel room by May 15th to lock in your discounted room rate of only $95 per night.

I’ve finally caught a break in the action here at the 2009 Hot Wheels Collector’s Nationals in Reston, VA to start getting some of the content I’ve captured up online. Here are a few close-ups of the core convention cars (minus the traditional HWC car).

For those who have not attended a Nationals convention before, you’ll notice that the first 3 cars are labeled “of 4″ while the charity car does not have that same marking. The true 4th car is a given out for free at the finale event on Saturday night. I’ll post shots of that as soon as I can get it in my hands. Stay tuned!

Why pay secondary market prices when you can get a limited edition 2009 Super Convention commemorative piece straight from the source?! Being the first year for the Super Convention, the majority of convention cars offered were Code 3′s created by various customizers. Limited runs and great quality will keep these selection in the “highly sought-after” category.

The two Johnny Lightning pieces at the beginning of the set were part of the general admission ticket. The black Shelby was the standard offering while the red Mustang was the chase piece. Please note that this set does not contain pictures of every car offered. I will add additional pictures as I go through the cars I was able to bring home.

I also include several shots of the many Jimmy “The Boxman” Chavez pieces that were available at the Diehard-Diecast booth. Enjoy!
