What is a Podcast…?
Podcasts are simply audio files that you can download and listen to. As of the fall of 2005 there are tens of thousands of podcasts out on the internet that cover every subject under the sun. To search for other Podcasts that might be of interest to you, head on over to one of the many Podcast Directories like Podcast Alley.
Do I need to subscribe to listen to diecastAUDIO…?
No, subscribing to diecastAUDIO is not necessary to listen to each episode. You can simply click on the PODCAST graphic next to each show posting in the blog and your computer will either prompt you to download to audio file or it will automatically launch a media player and will begin playing the file. You can also listen to episodes right from the website using our flash-based audio player. Look for the LISTEN NOW button to launch the player.
Why should I subscribe…?
There certainly isn’t anything wrong with coming to the website and manually downloading diecastAUDIO each time a show is released, however when you subscribe all of the manual steps are eliminated. Subscribing to a podcast is like creating a Season Pass on your Tivo or setting your VCR to record your favorite TV show.
Do I need an iPod to listen to a Podcast…?
Since a Podcast is just an MP3 file, all you need to play it is an MP3 player. There are multiple 100’s of Millions of MP3 players out there - They are called computers. With the help of FREE software such as iTunes or Quicktime or Windows Media Player - You are already able to listen to a Podcast. You only need an iPod or other Mobile MP3 Player if you want to listen to a podcast while you are working out, driving to work or taking the dog for a walk.
