Jada Collectors rejoiced when two new lines began popping up on the pegs as we rolled into the 2011 collecting year. The first of those is the new 1:64 scale Bigtime 4Wheelin’ series thats a strong offering and rapidly becoming a hit with collectors of both off-road vehicles and monster trucks alike.

If you haven’t been able to catch a look at these first hand in the stores, then this overdue multi-part pictorial should wet your appetite for Wave 1 of these dirt loving beauties. Be sure to hunt these down at your favorite online or brick and mortar retailer if you like’em. We need to let Jada know that the collectors are still craving all things with that distinctive “Jada style!”

Part 1 of this 3 part series features the 2006 Hummer H1 and the 1957 Chevy Suburban.

“Papa” John Schnatter’s famous 1971 Z28 Camaro has virtually become synonymous with the brand by its appearance on commercials throughout the past year as well as in 1:64 scale diecast form. Collectors of larger scale pieces will want to check out this new 1:24 scale version of John’s pride and joy done up using the Camaro casting from Jada Toys. You’ll need to get it while its hot though, as this will only be available for a limited time for $29.99.

Its been a while (unfortunately) since I’ve posted anything about Jada. However, on a recent swing by their official website I was pleasantly surprised to see the announcement of a new line called “Battle Machines.” The first wave will consist of 12 1/64 scale cars made from 6 brand new castings (two unique designs per casting). In addition, five of those six castings are licensed vehicles.

Jada says “Big guns, big engines, massive body armor and crazy styling make this collection unique.”, and I have to agree. The images posted so far give off a “Mad Max Meets The Fast and the Furious” feel. I have to give props to Jada for this pretty slick new direction that will hopefully attract both collectors and a younger audience.

Jada’s Battle Machines should be hitting brick and mortar retailers in the next few weeks. Until then, here are some images which are also available from jadatoys.com as downloadable wallpaper for your computer desktop.

Back in June, Jada launched the Vintage Vault Contest Series that gives collectors the opportunity to win free die-cast from a secret stash of original products that have long since left the store shelves. Vintage Vault Contest #4 is currently under way and will end on July 17th The winner will be announced on July 18th. This time around the prize package features a set of (3) 1/64 die cast model kits including a Chevy Suburban, an Astro Van and a Chevy S-10 that were all released in 2001. In this fourth and final post in the our “Up Close” close series featuring VW’s from Jada, we have the second Drag Beetle from V-Dubs Wave 4. Jada took a more tradition approach with the design of this one and stuck with a classic flames motif. While the choice of blue flames on yellow certainly catches the eye, there isn’t anything else that makes this particular addition stand out when placed next to the others in the Wave. The choice of running the blue over the headlights rather than detailing them realistically like the taillights seems odd.

In this third entry of this week’s Up Close segment, we switch from Buses to Beetles! Jada continues the Drag Theme with this great looking “Purple People Eater” VW Beetle from Wave 4. Excellent purple paint, a red interior and great monster-themed tampos really make this one look sharp. The most noteable detail has to be the bloodshot eyeball headlights! It’s sleak and silver and looking fast while standing still! This week’s Up Close segment continues with the another great drag bus from Wave 4 of Jada’s V-Dubs line. This submarine-themed drag bus has metallic silver paint, portal-style windows, fantastic tampos and a really cool stance. What really sets it off is the blue striping around the wheels and the red accent around the headlights! Little bits of detail like that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! The folks over a JADATOYS.COM have posted some shots of the new castings that will be available as part of Wave 3 of their popular “For Sale” line. This time around Jada is making some bold moves by including a diverse set of vehicles which include a Hummer H1, a 1973 Ford Bronco, a 1965 Dodge A-100 pickup, a 1971 Nissan (Datsun) 510, a Mazda RX7 , and a 1940 Caddilac Fleetwood.

While we’ve seen the likes of the Datsun 510 in other lines, it should be interesting to see how Jada is able to transition some of the more obscure castings seen here into future releases. diecastAUDIO is definitely excited to see!

A few weeks ago we mentioned how Jada’s 1/32 scale diecast models were beginning to pop up in your favorite break and mortar retailer. The first rounds that appeared included cars from the Bigtime Muscle and Dub City lines. Now the VW fans will get their fill as collector BBIG MIKE shares this picture of some bugs and buses he recently picked up.

Mike also mentioned that each bug and bus will be available in 6 different colors! With a retail price of about $5 each I can see a lot of spending in many Jada fans futures!

A few new ’57 Chevys have popped up on the Jada Toys site and are definitely worth checking out! The first is a 1/24th scale blown version from the Bigtime Muscle line and will be available in blue, red, black and yellow.

The other is a fantastic 1/24th scal ’57 from the “For Sale” line which is sure to find a home in quite a few dioramas and displays across the globe!

While Jada has been releasing 1/32 scale cars for a while now, they have only been available at hobby locations in the traditional hobby displays rather than individual window box packaging. For those of you who happen to be fans of both Jada Toys and Drag Racing, the John Force Racestation is now offering the Jada DIVCO Skool Bus in 1:24th scale. What makes this 1:24th scale version special is that is bears John’s autograph!

Last season, Chip Foose designed a custom school bus for John and the Racestation though that these autographed pieces would be a nice tie-in. This is not a special run done by Jada, but is simply a standard DIVCO Skool Bus sporting the John Force signature. Only 100 pieces were signed and they are available now for $79.95 each.

Its been a while since we’ve highlighted one of the fantastic image floods from forum poster Reekman, so a new mention is definitely due! However, this time he brings us a sneak peek of the upcoming 1:24th Scale Limited Edition 2006 Chevy Camaro Concept from Jada Toys!

This time Jada stuns us with a Chromed out Camaro with American flag flames. Each Camaro in this limited 5000 piece run will be individually numbered and will come packaged in a hard acrylic case. Pricing is still unknown, but obtaining one could be difficult regardless – only 3600 pieces out of the full 5000 will be available in the US. Expect this to hit sometime in June!

“It’s undeniable that the diecast car market is trending away from where it has been since around 2000 when new diecast companies like Maisto, MotorMax, Welly, and others couldn’t seem to release enough new models in a zillion colors with an unlimited production. Many serious collectors bemoaned this overabundance of mediocre releases of boring street cars. Now their seems to be little choice in the matter as the well has dried up and 2007 will see the lowest number of new releases in a decade with some companies choosing to either delay or scrap new releases or exit the market entirely. Maisto will reportedly not release any new 1/18 Premier Edition models, instead choosing to revamp existing molds. Ertl RC2 will only release a handful of their limited edition Authentics models. Highway 61 will have some fresh cars but no word from Lane Exact Detail on their high-end, superb quality 1/18 scale American muscle car offerings. Even Jada Toys has slowed somewhat and will throttle back their stock despite feeling the pinch less than other developers due to foresight in purchasing metal contracts in advance. Their wholesale costs have risen only slightly from last year. Our advice to the diecast model car collector? Choose your purchases wisely and look for high-quality limited edition pieces for the next few years. Like it or not, this downturn is likely to last.”

Jada Toys recently announced the addition of a few cars across several of their populaR product lines. First, the Big Time Muscle line gets a new 1:24th scale ’69 Camaro which will be available in black with orange stripes, blue with white stripes, orange with black stripes, red with white stripes and red with race tampos (shown).

The High Profile line will get recharged with a sharp looking 1:24th scale 2006 Nissan Titan Pickup which will be available in black, red, silver and white. The Option D line will also get two new offerings in the way of a 1:24th scale Lamborghini Murcielago Model Kit in orange color and a 1:18th scale Nissan R32 in black color as shown below.

Keep an eye out for these hitting your favorite retailer in the near future.

In recognition of the Long Beach Grand Prix, Jada Toys and Alpha Cult are presenting an art show on April 14, from 7-11PM, featuring customized 1:24 scale Scion XB die-cast cars. Jada’s very own Tracy Tubera got involved and the show will feature 38 customized Scion xB cars in addition to some 2-D artwork displays depicting cars and car culture.

In addition, the opening reception will feature music by Alpha Cult’s resident DJs Púr One & Namo, a LIVE in-store painting session by female graffiti artist Sesoh, and special door prizes, giveaways, and raffles for some really cool goodies provided Jada Toys, Scion, and Audiobahn.

Jada’s High Profile line returns to market with its upcoming Wave 5. Unlike the larger 1/32 scale Baller Hauler trucks that were not available at mass market, this new Road Rigz line will be readily available in 1/64th scale at major retailers.
