Night Stalker’s Japan Convention Experience
While some of us were whooping it up in Connecticut at The Wild Weekend of Hot Wheels, and others were chillin’ at home, Chris “Night Stalker” Walker was tearing up the far east at the Hot Wheels Custom Car Show in Japan! Here’s what CHris had to say about the trip in his latest e-mail newsletter:
“Hello all, I just got back from the Yokohama Japan, Hot Wheels Custom Car Show. I would say I am glad to be home in the US, but I have mixed feelings about that. I love home, but Japan is great. And everyone treats you so well there, it feels sad to leave. Almost as if I have extended family in the land of the rising sun! But I will be back in November. It was a great time for sure.
The show was a hit and met all my usual gang of suspects. Of course I shopped and hit my favorite spot, Yodobashi Camera HARD! lol! I bought my usual over-limit of Japanese toys -of course. Something different this time was I went to visit a giant Gundam statue. For those who do not know, Gundam is a robot that has been around since 1979 in Japanese cartoons, toys, and comic books. So in honor of the 30th anniv of Gundam, they built a 1:1 scale Gundam and had it on display in a park in Tokyo. Unreal.
So pics of that, a few pics of the event, and of course various sites are on my website www.NightStalkerCustoms.com in the events section”
As Chris mentioned, there are a TON of great pictures posted on his website. Be sure to check them out!
