Racing with The Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club
The racing action at this month’s Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club was captured on video by my good friend Domingo Montiero. I left the meeting with the tape in-hand and put together this little montage for collectors to get a feel for the racing experience that RIHWC members get to enjoy every month on our killer 50 foot track! Enjoy!
Visit the official Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club website for more information about the club and upcoming meetings.

Wow, nice setup and great video! Looks like the RI crew goes all out!
I’m trying to get together a more organized racing club here in Ohio but having trouble finding a good spot to host the thing. I don’t have a 50-foot track, it’s only about 20, but still a lot of fun.
Just wondering how/where to go about getting a decent location and possibly get sponsors for such a thing?
I see Mattel is a sponsor? How’d you swing that?
Thanks for the kudos! We have a big club with 100+ members (not really reflected in the video) so having a hall to accommodate the crowd is essential. A combination of club dues, racing fees and raffle money help cover the costs.
Mattel is involved in our convention after the amazing job the whole RIHWC crew did in raising over $20,000 for Make-a-Wish last year.
Make sure you mark your calendar for the 2010 Super Convention in Las Vegas as well: http://www.spinyourtires.com
Cheers,

We love to race and we love to give back to the community. We have a club with great members, which is the key to our success. Not only last years great summer smash event but all our Expos the last 10 years is why Mattel has stepped up and recognized us. enjoy the video there will be another video up very soon.
