Treasure Hunts for Christmas
Two years ago I wrote a post about my fortunate experience of finding a Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt at a local Walgreens in my hometown during my traditional Christmas visit. Finding a Treasure Hunt at the same location on Christmas Eve two years in a row was quite a thrill.
In 2007 I was hoping to repeat the find for a third year in a row, but unfortunately I came up empty handed. However, to my surprise this past Christmas brought the magic back. While passing through the checkout I happened to glance down and see a single peg of Hot Wheels with a hint of green sticking out on a card in the middle! As many collectors will agree, the rush of excitement you get when finding a t-hunt just cant be beat.

Finds like this really help to keep the spirit of collecting alive, and I’m still amazed that I’ve managed to find 3 t-hunts in 4 years on the same day in the same location each year. Check back after Christmas this year to see if my luck continues!

Just a few days ago, I was walking through a walmart when I saw them rolling out a very large blue box. Curious, I waited as they pulled the skid out and cut open the giant box. It was a 4-way that featured Hot Wheels, one side of the pallet was covered in hundreds of Hot Wheels, and to my amazement, there was a treasure hunt in front of several of the rows, for a total of 8 treasure hunts. This being my first treasure hunt find, I didn’t realize that TWO of those treasure hunts where in fact SUPER treasure hunts. I think I am one of the luckier collectors out there at the moment
Vance,
Thanks for sharing that great story. You certainly stumbled onto an amazing haul – especially for your very first TH find!!

1 time we me and my dad found a pallet with nine cases on it and 8 of them were hunt inside. now, about two days ago at about 2:30/3:00 AM we found a B O D (bin of death, for Hotwheels) a half pallet of hot wheels we went through it and found 7 hunts no supers but in our time we have got a lot of super hunts, and “millions” of regular hunts. we have already hit a 2011 in the end of september 2010! We are good collecters at this!
