First Hot Wheels Convention Piece Revealed
Summer is only half over, and its already time to start thinking about this fall’s 22nd Annual Hot Wheels Convention in Los Angeles, California. Earlier this week Diane Strauss of the Official Hot Wheels Newsletter revealed the first of five limited edition convention pieces that will be part of the 40th Anniversary celebration. Its no surprise that they are leading things off with a spectacular flamed Volkswagen Drag Bus!
The special convention edition of the bus will be limited to 3000 pieces and features dark blue Spectraflame paint with a black front and spoiler. The official convention logo sets off the roof and is surrounded by black flames on the top and sides. Additional features include clear windows, Real Rider tires on 5-spoke hubs and a metal interior. The official convention logo featured on the bus was designed by Wayne Scott and the graphics for the piece were done by Mike McClone.
This bus and the rest of the official convention merchandise will only be available in the convention souvenir salesroom during convention week.
