Yesterday the focus was on a Dodge from Maisto. Today, we turn the focus to Johnny Lightning’s 1970 Dodge Superbee which will be part of Musclecars R17. I’ve always been a fan of the Superbee with its true muscle car profile and unique front-end. JL Senior Design Manager Tom Zahorsky shared these details about the bee over on the Johnny Lightning blog:

“This release features three wheel variations, a newly tooled hood, 2-tone interior and an extra set of 5-spoke rims with Uniroyal tires.”

If this piece is any indication of the quality of the entire release, we certainly in for a real treat! Keep your eyes peeled for the Superbee and the rest of Musclecars R17 landing in stores later this month.

Its been a while since I’ve posted anything Maisto related on the site, but how could I not after seeing these shots posted by collector zamac84 over on JOESDIECASTSHACK.COM. Maisto did a great job on this 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible. Zamac84 also reports that the piece was only $8.50 at Walmart. You certainly can’t go wrong for that price! As usual, the sale starts at 9am PST/12pm EST in the Hot Wheels Shop and is open to Red Line Club Members only for the first 24 hours. The price is set at $29.95 + shipping and handling.

Based on the official article posted about this piece, you will unlikely see any left for standard HWC members come Wednesday. Only 2000 were produced for the show in Japan and a mere fraction of those will be available during tomorrow’s sale. I’m sure that the competition to get one will be fierce!
