Collector Roy Nakamura has posted some great information on JOESDIECASTSHACK about new accessories you can use to liven up your 1/24th scale diecast displays. He had this to say:

The next HOTWHEELSCOLLECTORS.COM sale is scheduled for Tuesday August 28th and features a perfect pair of pickups. The first is the Custom ‘69 Chevy pickup which was chosen by RLC members as the final sELECTION Series vehicle for 2007. The Chevy will come dressed in Spectraflame aqua finish with a white stripe on hood, roof and sides as well as a black-painted open bed. The truck is finished off nicely with Real Riders five-spoke wheels, a full-metal, chrome-plated chassis, a light smoke-tinted windshield and a black interior!

The second vehicle will be a Neo-Classics Beach Bomb Pickup which will feature an open bed for the very first time. The Beach Bomb’s design starts with a gorgeous Spectraflame yellow finish, a black stripe on roof and black and white stripes on sides, while the open bed will contain two removable black and white surfboards. This won is finished off with basic five-spoke wheels red line wheels, a full-metal, chrome-plated chassis, a blue-tinted windshield and a grey interior.

Since the Chevy is part of the sELECTION Series, it will be available for purchase by RLC members for one week following the beginning of the sale. To make purchasing easier, both cars can be ordered in one shot as a “Clutch Kit.” The standard $14.99 purchase price applies to this sale and the madness begins at 9:00am PST (Noon EST) on the 28th.

The fine folks over at DIECASTLIVE.COM sent in this tip on the new Little Debbie Racing Transporter that is available thru mail-in via Office Max stores.

This 1/64th scale piece comes with a diecast cab and a plastic trailer. That certainly makes the $21 price (cost + shipping) fairly steep for what you get. This week Diane Strauss and the Hot Wheels Newsletter have announced the casting for this year’s 4th convention car. That casting is the 1950 Chevy Truck! It will be dressed in gray with white doors and bed, clear windows, white interior and White Wall Real Riders tires featuring chrome hubs. Designer Jerry Thienprasiddhi gets all the credit for the truck’s tampo design. Just as the others, this car is limited to a run of no more than 3,000 pieces and will available in the souvenier room at the convention for $20 each beginning on October 2, 2007.

Poster Motorhead on the HOBBYTALK.COM diecast forums shared some information and these excellent pictures of AutoArt’s new Mad Max Interceptor from the Road Warrior movies. The pictures were found on a Japanese website and show that this will be a highly detailed piece that even comes with accessories like gas cans, a dog and a spare tire. There doesn’t appear to be any information from AutoArt North America on the piece, so pricing and availability in the states is still unknown. The Japanese release appears to be sometime in November or Decemebr of this year - Stay tuned!!
