As we’ve mentioned in the past, the folks over a DIECASTLIVE.COM have a new club car in the works and the first photos of the final version have be posted! This custom Camaro concept from Greenlight has really shaped up to be one spectacular piece! Click on any of the following thumbnails to see the full-size photos.

Those who are attending the Dearborn Convention later this week will be able to see these in person. The final carded product will be shipping in July, and as of last week there are approximately 25 sets left. The polls are open over at HOTWHEELSCOLLECTORS.COM for the third RLC “sELECTIONs” Series car for 2007. Voting for the first round began on April 19th and will conclude this week on Wednesday, April 25th. This time around collectors will get to vote on castings which span 4 decades of cars! The match-ups include:

• ’70s: Mighty Maverick (debuted 1970) vs.Bye-Focal (debuted 1971)
• ’80s: 3-Window ‘34 (debuted 1980) vs.Shelby Cobra 427 S/C® (debuted 1983)
• ’90s: ‘32 Ford Vicky (re-make debuted 1994) vs. Way 2 Fast® (debuted 1997)
• ’00s: ‘71 Plymouth® GTX (debuted 2001) vs. ‘69 Pontiac® GTO® (debuted 2005)

To the delight of Hot Wheels collectors across the globe, the one and only Airland was able to bring his much loved “Ironbox Newswire” segment back to life this past weekend! A little over a month ago, Air announced that his popular news postings on HOTWHEELSCOLLECTORS.COM would be stopping as the sources that had been providing him with the tasty bits of “insider” Hot Wheels news had dried up. What followed was a dizzying array of reply posts from fellow collectors expressing their unhappiness of the hearing that the column would be ending.

On April 22nd, Airland resurrected the Ironbox Newswire with a series of delectable morsels for collectors to chew on. The highlights of his report include:

• Next year’s 40th Anniversary will be known as the year of the Alternate Reality
• There will be a 40th Anniversary Series featuring a casting from each year
• There will be a Ferrari 60th Anniversary carded series available this year consisting of 12 Ferrari Castings found in multiple colors
• A new Ferrari 5 pack available soon in special red packaging as well as the normal blue
• Rumors of a new 67 Pontiac GTO convertible casting persist
• A new casting called The SS Express will show up this year somewhere
• The Batmobile has not been released with 5 hole wheels
• Super Chromes may be honored in a special way by years end
• Adult Collectibles are still a go with info coming soon

Cuda033 from the DIECAST WHIPS site contacted us this week to share some info on their very first site car! The selected casting will be the Dairy D and the first run will be limited to just 20 pieces and will be offered to registered members of the site. Registered members can help select the color and design of the car through voting on the site.

The good news is that if the first 20 sell out, then an additional 20 will be created using the 2nd highest voted color and the same tampo design (yet to be voted on as well). If you are interested in obtaining a nice limited piece of diecast, then now is the time to join. Be sure to invite your friends over to Diecast Whips so they can vote as well!

Just wanted to let you all know that I’ve been swamped getting things ready for the Rhode Island Diecast Expo happening this Sunday, so the next episode of the show will be delayed until thats over.
